Marnie Hardy makes photographs of handmade scenes that are pieced together from images and surfaces picked out from lifestyle magazines and digital snapshots. Images are cut out, bent, folded and glued to be re-assembled in their new settings.

This cut-out-and-keep approach echoes the association between looking and having that’s bound up in shopping, advertising and reading the glossies, and explores the intersection of the commercial and the personal imaginary.
