Min Hye Kim was born in Japan as a third generation Korean, and now lives and works in London and Paris. After working for six years as an art director/copywriter in an advertising agency in Tokyo, she came to London to study Fine Art. She was awarded the Japanese Government Scholarship 2003/2004 and graduated from the Royal College of Art in July 2004. Her work focuses on the tension and anxiety caused by lust - where ambivalent sensations and emotions, such as pleasure, pain, connection, isolation, shame and fame become acutely apparent.
