My recent work explores the landscapes of the south coast of England. Using photography as a hybrid medium (thread work – photograph, inlay – photograph) creates a sculptural low relief with the print.
Combining this with a working practice that is multi-layered and polymath (CAD with on sight drawing, virtual with craftsmanship making, digital with traditional film based skills)
Expresses different intervals of and references to time, space, location and identity; exposing the evolution of a sight, the dynamic, fragile and often surreal nature of the environments that surround us.
