"Absences" relates to the missing workers resultant from the 18th-century Highland Clearances in Scotland. Exhibited in the underground cellars of the Czech National Centre for Experimental Theatre, Brno.
The sound track of whispered voices from survivors' accounts, played through multiple speakers echoed round the catacombs, and recalled more recent ethnic cleansing and forced migration in Europe.
