Funkhaus
Nalepastrasse is proud to announce a new art prize
for sculpture taking place in Berlin in June 2011. The prize
in the sum of 4,000 Euros will be given to
one artist.
The Funkhaus in
Nalepastrasse situated on the Spree bank was the legendary
communication station during the GDR and currently is a center
for the arts and multimedia.
The complex already
runs services for the music and movie industry, such as
recording studios, recording halls, a theatre stage, film
locations as well as locations for photo shooting and
events.
Last year the Funkhaus
has launched a successful art program for visual artists
living in Germany. As part of this program, a section of one
of the buildings was converted into artists studios and the
first curated exhibition with the artists taking part in the
program will take place at the end of June 2011.
The Funkhaus is in a
process of becoming one of Berlin's biggest centers for the
arts and multimedia, and the Funkhaus Art Prize is one of the
new projects planned for 2011.
