(New York, NY – November 29, 2011):  Fountain Art Fair has returned with its signature spunk and grit to the 25th St / North Miami warehouse for its 6th consecutive year.  Fountain opens the doors to its compellingly rambunctious platform of innovative galleries, artist projects, performance artists  and musical guests this Thursday at noon for a VIP/Press Preview.  Come see for yourself the unpredictable and alternative art fair experience Fountain has to offer.

Fountain is pleased to announce it will screen FRAME, a moving image art series curated by Vimeo, leading video sharing site, and Culture Shock, a NY-based media agency for creative industry. The FRAME program features 18 videos by artists on Vimeo that will be projected 25-30 ft above the main Fountain stage on the outdoor lawn.

Stoyn Ice Cream has travelled all the way from Russia to share their delicious iconic heads of ice cream with the Miami Beach crowd.  Unique contemporary culture tastemaker Nightdrive and enticingly natural sparkling juice IZZE have joined as Fountain sponsors as well.  The Flavorpill / Fountain Giveaway has some great prizes in store, including a Lomography camera and original works by Fountain artists.

Fountain’s epic150 foot street art installation highlights some of the most sought after artists including Sharktoof, Chris Stain, Olek, Hugh Leeman, Chor Boogie, OverUnder, White Cocoa, Army of One, Clown Soldier, Joe Iurato, CAKE, Tip-Toe, Elle, Ian Ross, Know Hope, Depoe, and Zero Cents

Special musical guests on Friday and Saturday will keep you dancing the night away. Artlog Presents Friday Night’s Opening Reception with cultural legend Fab 5 Freddy, the ultimate punk/hiphop/pop all stars Ninjasonik, and NYC based DJ NSR.  On Saturday night, The Miami New Times and Nightdrive present VHS and Beta, dance-off project Entresol, and disco-reviving dj, Laura of Miami.

Fountain welcomes back Brooklyn based gallery Grace Exhibition Space to curate a weekend-long program of palpably visceral and challenging contemporary visual performance featuring eleven surprising and engaging artists from around the world.

Fountain Art Fair was founded in 2006 as an attempt to leverage support for smaller independent galleries to gain access to larger collectors and critics. Since its inception, Fountain has held six exhibitions in New York, one in Los Angeles, one in Chicago, and is now celebrating its sixth exhibition in Miami. From its roots deep within the independent Brooklyn art scene, Fountain has grown to represent over 20 international avant-garde galleries and projects, showcasing progressive primary-market works.
