Voices of the Sea is a unique commissioning opportunity created by a partnership of arts organisations. In Brighton and Hove, UK: Fabrica, Blast Theory, Brighton Festival, Lighthouse, Photoworks, the University of Brighton and in France, the Musee de Beaux Arts Calais. We seek to commission two artists, each with a strong track record, to create two major new works, responding to the coastal context and maritime heritage of South East England.text.

The National Media Museum in partnership with FutureEverything has announced a £10,000 open commission for a new, groundbreaking artwork to premiere at the launch of Life Online, the world's first gallery to explore the social, technological, and cultural impact of the internet and the web.
  

Film and Video Umbrella commissions
Deadline: 14 July, 2011
Context Film and Video Umbrella launched a series of web commissions in March 2011 with Babel Fiche by Dave Griffiths followed in May by Simon Faithfull's Limbo. This strand of commissioning aims to utilise and engage with online platforms as sites for making, viewing and participating in contemporary art.

manifestaZOOne 2011: urban bill-board art

The association Art.ur presents the fifth edition of the Urban Art Exhibition contest, manifestaZOOne. The intention of this project that utilizes public space which has been coordinated in partnership with the international literature exhibition Scrittorincittà (writers in the city) for three years, is to promote communication of socially sensitive issues in the form of large billboards, commenting in a direct and often ironic way on the theme of the exhibition

Matt Roberts Arts - salon art prize 2011

Deadline: 13th August, 2011 

Matt Roberts Arts is currently seeking applications for the fifth annual salon art prize exhibition which will take place from 6th - 30th October, 2011. The salon art prize welcomes applications from practitioners working with painting, sculpture and installation, and 2-D practices (collage, drawing, printmaking etc.). To mark the fifth anniversary of the prize we will be offering three separate prizes of £1000 (one for each category), supported by John Jones.

The Red de Residencias Artísticas LOCAL program seeks to strengthen links between artists interacting with foreign artist residence programs as well as with international cultural management institutions. Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen - Rave Scholarships

Ifa's role is to promote cultural dialogue and to help people form a clearer picture of each other. Ifa also functions as a mediator of German foreign cultural policy. The Institute is funded by the German Foreign Office, the state of Baden-Württemberg and the city of Stuttgart.
