Dave Bown Projects - 3rd Semiannual Competition

Deadline 30 November 2011

Christina Strassfield - Guild Hall Museum, New York. - Prizes - $10,000 USD (1 artist will receive $5,000 and 5 artists will each receive $1,000). Dave Bown Projects will be buying works of art, on an ongoing basis, from select artists as submissions are received.
  

 

 

Joya: arte + ecología AGUAZERO, Andalucía, Spain

Deadline: 31 December, 2011

We are inviting submissions in water-based medium on or with paper. The competition has an environmental agenda requesting submissions to reference the contrary character of climate change. For example, increased desertification and the escalating effects of weather events such as flooding and soil erosion. The work should be based on observation, experience and invention. It must be as involved with the process and materials of painting/drawing etc. as with the response to climate change.

Other Possible Titles - Grizzly Grizzly, Philadelphia, PA

Grizzly Grizzly is Philadelphia project space devoted to emerging and under-represented artists. For the November 2011 exhibition 'Other Possible Titles,' Grizzly is looking for inventive work for inclusion in a juried, group show. Work in any medium - sculpture, wall work, video art, installation, etc- is encouraged.  

 

 

Right brain / left brain exhibition at Kaleidoskop, Berlin

kaleidoskop is an independent project and exhibition space, opening its doors to all artists and designers. The theme explores the ways in which the Right and Left side of the brain process information differently and the behavioral science that occurs when a person generally uses one side more than the other.

Photography Fellowships - University of Arizona, Center for Creative Photography

Fellowships are awarded for projects that require an extended period of research in the collections of the Center. Awards in amounts up to $5,000 will support two to four weeks of study at the Center.

International Curator, A.I.R. Dubai - The Delfina Foundation

Applications are open to curators interested in pursuing research, curatorial and critical writing opportunities in the Gulf. The dates of the residency are 8 January to 7 April 2012.
The selected curator will be an upcoming/mid-career curator from anywhere in the world, either working with an established institution (and able to take a sabbatical) or freelance.
